INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS
Pacheco Lodge #117
Do you care about the welfare of your fellow men, women, and children in your community? Want to become more involved in your neighborhood and community? I can assure you that a membership with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows could enable you to achieve some rather incredible things in your community.
What is the Odd Fellows all about? Simple.
1. Odd Fellowship strives to maintain a viable service driving organization, dealing with important environmental, social, and community service issues, and charting a future course for growth and prosperity.
2. Of the many achievements, the Odd Fellowship is proud to boast that it has assumed an obligation to care for the aged, the widow and children. The Odd Fellows Home at Saratoga (Saratoga Retirement Community) has provided a home for more than 4,000 Odd Fellow Members, their wives or widows, and the Rebekahs since it founding in 1895. The Meadows of Napa Valley (purchased in 1992) provides for more than 750 residents including members and non-members. Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Special Care facilities are available at both homes. Fellowship Plaza, also located in Saratoga, was built in 1979 and has 150 independent living apartments for seniors on limited incomes.
3. Since 1987 Odd Fellow-Rebekah Children's Home of California in Gilroy, Campbell, and Salinas has been serving the needs of children — some of whom are unable to remain in their homes. Too, providing aid to families strict with mental and emotional illness. Originally an orphanage, Rebekah Children's Services currently provides residential treatment and foster care for seriously abused children, and adoption agencies as well as community programs for over 3,000 children annually.
4. Odd Fellowship strictly forbids any interference with one's religious beliefs or political opinions, either directly or indirectly. All Odd Fellowship requires is an acknowledgment of God and complete obedience of civil laws.
5. Odd Fellowship is a world-wide Fraternal Organization, based on a belief in the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man. The Odd Fellowship endeavors to elevate the character of men and women, and thereby make this world a better place in which to live.
Personally, I owe so very much to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Concord, California. They have graciously provided us a space to hold our monthly meetings on the second Saturday of each month at 5:00P.
If you would like to become a part of the Odd Fellows community, please contact us. Be sure to provide us with your name, email address, and telephone number so that one of our personnel can follow up with you.
